====== Professor Dr. HRH Princess Chulabhorn Visited the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the Commonwealth of Australia on July 16 – August 9, 2011 ====== Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, visited the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the Commonwealth of Australia from July 16 to August 9, 2011. During her U.S. visit HRH Princess Chulabhorn signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the academic cooperation between the Chulabhorn Research Institute and the National Cancer Institute of the United States in Washington D.C. The MOU ceremony took place on July 21, 2011. HRH Princess Chulabhorn also signed another MOU with the Mount Sinai Medical School of the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, on July 25, 2011. During the Puerto Rico visit, HRH Princess Chulabhorn attended the 43rd World Chemistry Congress held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was invited by the University of Puerto Rico to deliver a lecture on the “Roles of Women in Science”, a topic about her experiences as a Thai scientist. The symposium included the award presentation of the 23 distinguished women in chemistry in 2011. Princess Chulabhorn was one of the recipients. The symposium was part of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, a worldwide celebration of the achievements of chemistry and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the International Association of Chemical Societies, in the United States. After the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, HRH Princess Chulabhorn proceeded to the Commonwealth of Australia. She was invited by the Queensland Children’s Medical Research Institute in Brisbane to deliver a lecture on “Environmental Carcinogens : Exposure and Impacts on Children’s Health” in the Scientific Conference to Launch the Children’s Health and Environment Program. The Queensland Children’s Medical Research Institute is a child and adolescent health focused health research institute developed as a partnership between the Queensland Health Children’s Health Services, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the University of Queensland. Professor Dr. HRH Princess Chulabhorn departed from Suvarnnabhumi Airport, Samut Prakan, on Cathay Pacific Airways Flight CX708 at 10.25 hours on Saturday, July 16, 2011, and returned on the same airline Flight CX709 at 23.40 hours on Tuesday, September 9, 2011. ----
