Her Royal Highness opened Nam-Sai Community Program, Phangnga (18 March 2009)

Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, visited people in Nam-Sai community, Lam Kaen, in the Thai Muang district of Phangnga on 18 March 2009.

The Nam-sai community was founded in 26 December 2004. The community is part of a royally initiated project to help a flood damaged area of 24 acres by promoting tourism and developing local products.

Her Royal Highness visited a center for occupational skills which help train the members of the local community in the production of handicraft and other products. The center provides training in English on Thai traditional massage, foot massage, local agricultural and culinary products including growing mushrooms and bean sprouts as well as the local craft of glass coloring.

After her visit to the center, Her Royal Highness visited the doctors who treat patients in Nam-Sai community, Lam Kaen, in the Thai Muang district of Phangnga. The motto for this community is a well run, unique project in surviving by making local products and promoting service within the community.
