HRH Princess Chulabhorn visited USA (3-19 June 2010)

Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, visited the United States of America from 3 to 19 June 2010.

Her Royal Highness was invited by the President of Tokyo University to join the Seventh Tokyo University President’s Council Meeting in New York, the United States. After New York, Her Royal Highness went to Washington, D.C. to participate in a meeting of the administrative officials and senior specialists of the National Cancer Institute. She seeked cooperation in the study and research on “Liver Cancer and Cholangiocarcinoma”, a joint project between the U.S. National Cancer Institute and Chulabhorn Research Institute as well as other scientific institutes of Thailand. Work plans were discussed. Her Royal Highness also visited the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda Campus, where she observed chemical research work and development on cancer drugs made from natural products.

During the visit, Her Royal Highness also granted an audience to the Thai government officials and members of the nearby Thai communities in New York and Washington D.C.

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn departed from Suvarnnabhumi Airport aboard the Cathay Pacific Airways CX707 flight on Thursday, 3 June 2010, at 10.20 hours, and returned by the same airline on the CX709 flight on Saturday, 19 June 2010, at 23.40 hours.
