====== HRH Princess Chulabhorn Visited the Republic of Korea (November 24 – December 3, 2011) ====== Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, visited the Republic of Korea from November 24 to December 3, 2011. During the visit Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn attended the Seoul International Invention Fair (SII2011), and was presented by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) the Special Prize 2010, a prestigeous international award for remarkable inventions, in honour of a number of Her Royal Highness’ significant, pioneering research work and support which benefit worldwide scientific research and inventions. She was also awarded the Gold Cross of Merit with Blue Neck Ribbon by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) for her exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding research and invention activities, services and achievements. The Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) is a wholly integrated invention fair providing inventors from all over the world with comprehensive information on the commercialization of inventions, patent information, and technology transfer. The SIIF was hosted by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) whose mission is to promote international competitiveness and economic development through technology innovation in the industrial field by systematic and implementation of invention promotion projects. The International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) is a worldwide organization of the inventors and the innovators. IFIA’S objectives are to improve the status of inventors at national and international levels, and to promote cooperation between inventor associations. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn departed on Korean Air Flight KE654, from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Sumut Prakan Province on Tuesday 29, November 2011 at 00.15 hours. She returned by the same airline on Flight KE651, and arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Saturday 3, December 2011, at 22.10 hours. ----
