====== Royal Aspiration ======

Being a scientist, Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn had a very strong determination to promote and support scientific and technological research and development that would lead to sustainable development and enhance the quality of life the Thai people. She realized that in order to achieve such an ultimate goal it was necessary to establish a center of education and training, support funds and qualified human resources. Thus, in 1987, the Chulabhorn Research Institute was founded by H.R.H Princess Chulabhorn in honor of Her Majesty King Bhumibol on the very auspicious occasion of his 60th birthday.

The CRI since then has been engaged in research operation and development in key major disciplines in live with the royal initiated projects of H.M. the King. The Institution, moreover, has acted as a center of national and international scientific and technological cooperation promoting fundamental and advanced applied research necessary for the development of science and technology in the fields urgently needed by the country. The Institute has also been bringing together renowned scientists, both Thais and foreigners, as well as providing scientific training and promoting exchange of knowledge and qualified personnel simultaneously, through CRI efforts funds and cooperation have been sought from institutions and organizations of other nations to help promote research and other relevant activities.
