Chulabhorn Pattana V Village situates
in Kalubee degraded forest, Narathivas.
Main objectives of the village are to
rehabilitate environment, improve quality of
life of the people, and conserve the remaining
natural forest. The total area is 327 ha with
Yakang River serving as boundary at one side
of the village. There are tollaly 481 people of
100 families in the village, of which are
divided into 2 groups , Buddhist Thai and
Muslim Thai . These people have different
culture, lifestyle, religious and social activities
but can adjust themselves to live and share
activities together. Each family was given
0.16ha landwithahouse,and agviculture plot of
1.5 ha the Quality of life improvement and
professional support have been conducted by
training villagers to make a living in various
ways, for instance producing souvenir,
enhancing skill for domestic industry, nonf
formal education, etc Furthermore, they were
supported in agriculture, livestock, and
fishery, For environmental aspect, the villagers
were motivated to be aware of value and
importance of forest preservation.
One of outstanding activity of Chulabhorn Pattana V village is Orchid and Ornamental Plants Project. Objectives of this project are to establish a center to demonstration and extension of orchid and ornamental plants in the region, to collect orchid species that is native to the southern region for improvement and breeding, and to expand orchid market in the region.
