Chulabhorn Pattana I
Chulabhorn Pattana I Village was
established in 1989 at Thung Yai, Nakorn Sri
Thammaraj. This specific community adopted the
Moshav cooperative system with significant
modifications.
Moshav system is a type of Israeli cooperative in which each member family is given a
plot of land to build a house on and another plot of
land for agricultural activities. The members of this
type of co-operative can live in the community for
generations but are not allowed to sell such
property. This rule was initiated for the purpose of
protecting the villagers, their living quarters
and agricultural plots from land speculation
by businessmen.
In Chulabhorn Pattana I Village, 334 people of
100 families were settled in 168 ha of land. Each
family was given a house in a 0.16 ha plot for
living and another 1.6 ha plot for agricultural
purposes.
Main occupation of the village members are
fruit tree planting, such as mango, pomelo, oil
palm and para rubber.
