Biological Safety Training
Who need Biological safety training
All personnel who work with potential biohazardous agent or have risk to the exposure, for example:
- Student
- Scientist/Analyst/Researcher
- Cleaning personnel
When do you need biological safety training
- Before project start
- Before working in the laboratory
- Refresh annually
Training Methods
Self Training
The Biological Safety Sub-committee provides self training video for working safely with chemicals in laboratory. The video can be obtained from Safety Officer or respective Laboratory Safety Representative.
On the Job Training
- The training can be done by principle investigator or senior staff.
Other Training Methods
- Training organized by safety committee
- Chemical safety training organized by other institution with certificate of attendance or training material
Evaluation
- For self training provided by safety committee, a person must perform a pre- and post-tests. A pass criteria is 60%.
